Are you a superstitious person?
No matter whether you are normally a superstitious person or not, today, Friday the 13th, may have caused your superstitions to go into overdrive.
Yes, today is Friday the 13th which for many is considered to be a very unlucky day! But do you know why do people think something bad is going to happen when the 13th day of a month falls on a Friday? Well, from a little bit of investigation I’ve done, no one is quite sure what the exact origin of the superstition is, as there seems to be a number of theories about it’s origin.
The thing that caught my attention most about the reason for fearing Friday the 13th, is that historically there is a long history of bad luck occurring when the number 13 and/or a Friday are involved, and it’s that combination of these two things occurring on the same day, that make some feel Friday the 13th is a day we may be most likely to experience bad luck, and therefore they fear such days, such as today.
That said, from what I’ve read there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that there are necessarily more accidents or hospital visits on a Friday the 13th, but maybe that’s because people are extra careful on that day?
