Love compelled

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

Compelled – having to do something, because you are forced to or feel it is necessary

Are you compelled to do anything?

The above definition makes it sound as if it’s a bad thing to be ‘compelled’ to do something, doesn’t it? However the following bible verses

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NIV)

Are you compelled to serve God?

Are you compelled to help others know Christ?

Are you compelled to love those who’ve been rejected or forgotten by the world?

How can I offer less than all
When I am born again by his forgiving?
I’m compelled by love.

Jesus was compelled by love. He was compelled to save us, to die for us. For that reason I pray that you are compelled by love, to serve God.
