Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
It’s natural when there’s a heavy rain shower or a thunderstorm that we want to stay dray and warm, so we try to find shelter from the weather.
When someone we love faces danger or trouble, is natural for us to want to protect them, to find them a place of refuge where they will feel safe and protected until the danger is over.
Parents and guardians will often go that extra mile for their children, even if that means sacrificing something themselves, for their child.
He who takes refuge in the shelter of the Most High will be safe in the shadow of the Almighty. He will say to the Eternal, “My shelter, my mighty fortress, my God, I place all my trust in You.”
Psalm 91:1-4 (The Voice)
For He will rescue you from the snares set by your enemies who entrap you and from deadly plagues. Like a bird protecting its young, God will cover you with His feathers, will protect you under His great wings; His faithfulness will form a shield around you, a rock-solid wall to protect you.
Just as parents and guardians will do their utmost to protect those they love, so God, our Heavenly Father, will protect us from the storms of life. God will always provide everything we need, even when we feel life has become a heavy burden for us, and we can’t go on, God will protect us, and defend us, He will hold us close to him as He helps and guides us through those tough days.
In the storms of life, we simply need to be still, and trust God.
Hide me now Under Your wings Cover me Within Your mighty hand When the oceans rise and thunders roar I will soar with you above the storm Father, You are King over the flood I will be still and know You are God Find rest my soul In Christ alone Know His power In quietness and trust When the oceans rise and thunders roar I will soar with you above the storm Father, You are King over the flood I will be still and know You are God Your Joy Oh lord will be my strength, Renouncing fear We stand in your glorious grace. When the oceans rise and thunders roar I will soar with you above the storm Father, You are King over the flood I will be still and know You are God
How beautiful. Loved the words and the music. Hadn’t heard the song before, just the melody. God is our protector throughout our lives, as you said, we just need to trust him at all times
