Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
On Sunday, during our worship at Bellshill Salvation Army, we were reminded that God saw “something worth saving” in each of us, and were then challenged to consider what that “something” might be for us!
I must admit, this question has been bothering me since then, as I really struggled then, and now, to really find the “something worth saving” in me that God has seen. Don’t get me wrong, I know I have some good qualities, but it’s the things about me that are not good, that I always find myself getting caught up with, and focusing on.
I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Philippians 1:6 (The Passion Translation)
That said, I know that no matter what my many faults are, God really does believe that I am worth saving. After all, because of the power of the cross, Jesus died, so my sins would forever be forgiven. What a sacrifice.
This the power of the cross Christ became sin for us, took the blame, bore the wrath We stand forgiven at the cross
God proved to us all because of the cross, that he saw something worth saving in me and in you. I therefore acknowledge, and give thanks for, ‘The Power of the Cross’.
