A few days ago while talking to someone I’ve known all my life, I was reminded that we never really forget our roots. Roots are the foundations on which the future of a living thing is built. If we are taught Christian values and truths as a youngster, those values never really leave us, even in those who no longer profess to be a Christian.
Those who helped put down those roots for us when we were youngsters, both in terms of family, personality, relationships, faith and all of our other traits, are the most valuable people we ever have in our lives, as they help mould us into the people we grow up to be.
I will never ever forget my roots, either in terms of my immediate family, or in terms of those who taught me all about Jesus and faith, which ultimately lead to me becoming a Christian. They are my roots, and they have served me well.
