I can’t #4

Self esteem is typically defined as confidence in one’s own worth or abilities. As a Christian, self esteem could be defined as having confidence that we are who God says we are. In other words, we’re not dependent on our on abilities, but instead relying on God to provide all we need to achieve what we has planned for us.

Have you ever found yourself saying this about yourself, “I tried so hard, but I just wasn’t good enough”?

Don’t give in to that lie, as you are more than enough, and God tells us that in the bible.

Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
for the Lord will be at your side
and will keep your foot from being snared.

Proverbs 3:25-26

I’ve mentioned before, but in case you’ve missed it, I’m a perfectionist! I expect myself to do everything correctly and perfectly every time, so it’s no great surprise that I often disappoint myself when I don’t do things as well as I feel I should. I also often question what I do much of the time, ‘Should I be doing this?’, ‘Am I doing the right thing?’…

Why do I do that? Why don’t I listen to God, and why don’t I put my trust in Him to make the right choices, and believe in myself. God believes in me, so why shouldn’t I?!
