Nothing but His blood

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

God paid a ransom to save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver as you very well know. But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but only recently was he brought into public view, in these last days, as a blessing to you.

1 Peter 1:18-20 (Living Bible)

When we give our lives to God, we give Him our all – All because Jesus shed His blood for us.

We pray today that each of us will give every part of our lives to God, as He alone can fulfil our every need, and strengthen and guide us through every difficulty we face. If you haven’t given every part of your life fully to God, we pray you kneel before Him today and give your all to Him.

Nothing But Thy Blood
(Richard Slater Arr. Donna Peterson)

Jesus, see me at your feet
You alone my need can meet
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me
See my heart Lord, how I grieve
It’s your pardon that I need.
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me.

There is nothing I can bring,
Only by faith I am clinging to your cross,
O Lamb of God
Nothing but thy blood,
Nothing but thy blood can save me

Dark indeed the past has been
Yet in mercy take me in
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me.
As I am O hear me pray,
I can come no other way,
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me.

All that I can do is vein,
I cannot remove one stain.
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me.
Lord, I cast myself on Thee
By your grace I can be free
Nothing but thy blood, nothing but thy blood can save me.
