Good and helpful

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Ephesians 4:29 (New Living Translation)

These words are easy to read, but much more difficult to put into action aren’t they? We all have times when we’re annoyed, frustrated, disappointed, overwhelmed, desperate – and in times of such extreme emotions I’m sure we all can find it difficult to always say things that are “good and helpful”.

Yes, we fail as Christians in these situations, so we must pray for God to give us the patience, understanding and guidance to say “good and helpful” words in every situation we encounter. God can help us find the best words and language to use in every situation, so let Him help us to be helpful.
