Yet again this week at work seems to have lasted much longer than 5 days!
This week was one of the weeks where I was due to be in the office 2 days. Normally when I’m in the office twice in one week, it’s a Wednesday and a Friday. However this week I had two in-person meetings that I needed to be in the office for on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was in the office Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
The first thing to say is, how on earth did I ever manage to to do 5 days a week in the office every week, as I have to get up about 1 – 1.5 hours earlier on those days than when I’m working from home. Secondly, being in the office Tuesday and Wednesday this week, meant that by Thursday I thought is Friday – so that was a huge disappointment, as I’m sure you can imagine!
This has been a tough week on both a personal and work level. Toughness of this week has not been helped by some of the things that have gone on at work, which I’m not going to get into here. Suffice to say work has been stressful, and it really shouldn’t have been.
After thinking Thursday was actually Friday, Friday itself turned out to be a more positive day at work, and outside of work too – Firstly, at work I had only one scheduled meeting, so actually had time to get what I would term ‘some real work done’! Secondly, I was out for dinner with a couple of friends that I hadn’t been out with for a while – we were able to have a good blether, a great laugh, and that added with the good food and great company, it was just what I needed after a difficult week. It was a good way to end what had turned out to be a tough week.
