It’s been another busy week at work again, as I had a number of things I needed to complete before I signed-off yesterday for two week’s annual leave. Loads to do, and loads to organise, but I’d rather have it that way than not having much to do, as it does keep me focused, so I can keep encouraging my team to do the best they can to deliver working applications.
We had a couple of sessions with Microsoft this week too, to take them through how our Power Platform solutions have been set-up. It gave us the opportunity to highlight some things that aren’t working as we want, as well as highlighting some difficulties we’ve been left with by our integration partners, who initially set up our Power Platform. Looking forward to follow-up sessions with Microsoft where they can hopefully give us some advice/guidance on how to resolve some of the issues we’ve been left with.
As well as that I’ve been completing documentation of a number of processes, which I as a manager do, that the senior developers in my team will need to cover while I’m on annual leave. A lot of these processes are still new to us, so we’re still determining what processes work best for us as a team, but needed to document what they are at present, so have been documenting them, and then took the seniors in my team through them so they could ask any questions if needed.
Over and above work there’s still an number of things going on my life just now which are occupying my thoughts, but I’ve been trying not to focus on them too much, as doing so may drag my thoughts and my emotions in a direction I don’t want to go.
Yes, it been a busy week, but I was glad to be able to focus on my countdown to end of the working day on Friday, as reaching that milestone meant I could finally put my out-of-office on, and turn my work laptop off for two weeks! These two weeks leave really couldn’t come quick enough for me, as I have felt for a number of weeks that I need a break.
As always, it will take me a few days to switch-off from work, hopefully with the sun shining, and time to focus on non-work related things in my life, it’ll be just what I need.
