God’s grace alone

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

In last week’s “Wednesday Devotions” I told you that God’s grace is so amazing that I still find it difficult to comprehend that God would love someone like me. This week I want to continue focusing on God’s grace.

God is able to make all grace abound toward you, so that you, always having enough of everything, may abound to every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (Modern English Version)

God wants our lives to be full of His grace, so that He can work in us and through us, so that we can be all and do all in His service. Whatever gifts and abilities God has given us by His grace, we must use them for His glory.

God’s grace and blessings were not given simply for us to sit in church and feel good. Rather, they were given that we might not only be blessed, but also be a blessing to others.

Everything good that comes in us, and through us, is only by the grace of God. His grace saves us, justifies us, sanctifies us, and empowers us for His service. Grace-filled living is exercising the gifts that grace provides, and spreads the gospel of grace to those in this hurting and dying world.

We pray that each one of us may allow God’s grace to fill our lives, so we can be all He needs us to be, every day.

Grace Alone

Every promise we can make, every prayer and step of faith,
Every difference we can make is only by His grace.
Every mountain we will climb, every ray of hope we shine,
Every blessing left behind is only by His grace.

CHORUS
Grace alone, which God supplies;
Strength unknown He will provide;
Christ in us, our cornerstone –
We will go forth in grace alone.

Every soul we long to reach, every heart we hope to teach,
Everywhere we share His peace is only by His grace.
Every loving word we say, every tear we wipe away,
Every sorrow turned to praise is only by His grace.
