Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
Spending time with God is an important part of being a Christian. Therefore to build our relationship with God, we must make time.
I read an article recently which stated that nowadays more and more people are praying less and less. The reason most gave for this was simply that they don’t have enough time to pray or to spend time in His presence.
Life can be pretty busy, and so trying to find time to spend in God’s presence can sometimes seem difficult or almost impossible. If our faith is a priority for us, then we will make time for God. We should make, making time for God a habit that we prioritise in our everyday lives, just as Jesus did.
Early in the morning, Jesus got up, left the house while it was still dark outside, and went to a deserted place to pray.
Mark 1:35 (The Voice)
I was reminded of poem that one of the older members of our corps gave me on a card, when I was enrolled as a senior soldier at Rutherglen Salvation Army many years ago – I still have that card, it’s still tucked in my old songbook – It helps remind me of the difference prayer can make in our lives.
I pray it may make a difference in your life as you read these words today.
