My week in review – week #44 2023

Returned to work on Monday after being off sick since lunchtime on Tuesday. Still not 100%, but definitely feeling better than I was. Back at work Monday for an extra busy 4 days this week, and then off Friday, to try and relax.

Monday was a day of trying to catch-up with team members to try and get up to speed on where we now were with various projects and implementations.; It was also a day of attending a workshop where we were discussing/determining work needed for an upgrade we need to do in the coming weeks.

Tuesday and Wednesday were busy days too as we were interviewing for 2 new posts for IT graduates just trying to get started as an IT developer. They were both fairly full-on days, but ultimately 2 days where by the end of them I had got none of my own work done, but on the plus side, hopefully we will be able to fill our vacancies from those we interviewed.

Thursday ended up being a day almost entirely full of meetings, some with my meet to establish progress this week, and plan for next week, others to discuss development requests from others, and determine if/how we progress with them.

I was also busy Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with the band – we had a band locals meeting on Tuesday evening and our usual band practice on Wednesday – That was my first band practice for about a month, after not being well a couple of times in the last few weeks. I found it hard going as I’m still not feeling 100%, but actually played better than I anticipated considering how little I’ve been able to play/practice in the last month.

Busy weekend this weekend as Bellshill Salvation Army Band are celebrating their centenary weekend. We have Dr Howard Evans with us this weekend, and today he’s been leading us in a couple of practices, and then in the evening we have our centenary dinner – I’ll provide more details of this and the rest of our weekend another day.

I’m still not feeling 100% but at least I’be stopped feeling and being sick. Although I’m still not feeling like eating very much – at least compared to usual, but maybe that’s not such a bad thing, as I could do with losing some weight!
