I’m not a confident prayer – what do I mean by that? Well, it’s not that I don’t pray, but more that I struggle to find the words to express my prayers as I’m never sure I’m praying in the right way, or for the things I should be praying for, even though I know there are no rights or wrongs to praying.
Some people put aside specific times of the day to spend time in prayer with God, others pray whenever and wherever they are. In the bible we read of a number of examples of those who had were committed to praying either at specific times of the day or a specific number of times each day.
In Daniel chapter 6 we read about Daniel being put into the lion’s den. What put him into the lion’s den was his commitment to pray “three times a day”.
In Psalm 55, David tells us that he takes his troubles to God “Evening, morning and noon” in the knowledge that God will hear his prayers.
We even read of Jesus himself getting up “in the early morning” to pray in Mark 1:35.
And in Acts 3:1 we read of Peter and John going to the temple at the “time of prayer — at three in the afternoon”.
So why am I reminding you of these bible verses? Well really just to remind us all that there is no right or wrong time to pray, because there’s no specific time we must pray, as all that’s important is that we pray!
