My week in review – week #47 2023

What a week! The stormy, windy, wet weather Tuesday into Wednesday kind of reflected my week as a whole.

At work it was end of sprint/start of new sprint, week, which is always hectic, but this week added to that there was discussion about changing some of our project priorities, plus we were doing an essential upgrade to our testing environments (SiT, UAT and Training), which diverted a lot of our resources to the upgrade itself and testing the environments afterwards to ensure they were working as expected. We then worked with our 3rd party partners who are assisting with the upgrade, to agree dates for the essential upgrade to our production environments – Dates were agreed but then we met with some resistance from services to the dates, however by close of business of Friday, we had agreed dates/times for us commencing the upgrade to production – The issues were because services would be unable to access the production system during the upgrade which will take a number of hours to run and then for us to confirm all is working as expected.

Once again I spent quite a bit of time working on our Bellshill Salvation Army Band items in preparation for some of our Christmas events – Both for our social media platform (what music to share, Wednesday devotions) and the devotional thoughts for during some of the events. For me this is quite a pressured time, as there’s always so much to do to make sure the band’s presence, and our ministry is shared with as many people as possible, as we never know the impact something we share may have on someone’s life, as it may be just what they need to hear at that time.

This coming week sees us reach December already?! One of these years I’ll actually do what I always say I’ll do, and actually get organised for Christmas long before we hit the busyness of December…maybe next year!

Another busy week ahead next week so I need to get my band’s devotional thoughts finished, and get other things prepared for Christmas, including my Christmas shopping!
