People need the Lord

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

During our worship on Sunday morning I was astonished to hear that at present there are 32 countries in the world, currently in conflict, or at war. I have found myself coming back to that troubling fact often in these last few days.

The words and the melody of the song ‘People Need the Lord’ have been going through my head since Sunday.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realise people need the Lord?

The world needs hope, and it needs Jesus more than ever, doesn’t it?

It was the last line of the chorus of the song that I’ve been contemplating, “When will we realise people need God?” As Christians we know that everyone needs God, but here’s a question for you – How will those in need ever know God loves them, and that they need Him, unless we as Christians do our bit, by being God’s messengers?

Will you take up the challenge to be God’s messenger?
