Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
We just need to watch or read the news these days to be reminded that the world we live in needs God more than ever. Many are feel they are surrounded by darkness, that they have no hope, as they can’t see their way out of the darkness. Just a small light or torch is enough to illuminate their surroundings so they can make all the difference.
Many people are stumbling around in spiritual darkness – They struggle to find a way to escape from the darkness as every moment fills them with fear and uncertainty. There is hope for everyone though, as the light of Jesus can offer hope, purpose, and freedom to all.
Jesus needs us to share his light in the darkness of this world. Through the Holy Spirit living in us, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to our hurting world, and bring the hope that Jesus gives. Jesus encouraged his followers to
You are the light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house. Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

Jesus wants us to shine bright so that others will see his goodness and his love. Will you shine His light in this world?
