Right now

Do you live for today, or do you focus on the past – maybe past hurts or disappointments or regrets? Maybe you look ahead and plan for the future?

I’ve been reminded again recently that we must not live in the past – celebrating those people and events who have influenced our lives is fine, but don’t keep focusing on past disappointments and hurts. Instead we must put them to the side, and move on.

I am a bit of a worrier and can easily get my head into a place where I get caught up thinking about and worrying about the future based on my own perception of how that event may unfold. I know I shouldn’t worry about the future, and instead focus on the here and now, as God will take care of what lies ahead, so I don’t need to stress about it…but it’s hard isn’t it?

Things happen in life that cause us to worry about what the future may hold for us, or our family and friends, but if we remember to focus on the present, and leave all our worries and troubles with God, He will take care of the future.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

Philippians 4:6-7

Give all your worries, all your anxieties to God, and He will take care of your future, so you don’t need to worry about it.
