For the last few days, I’ve spent most of my time searching for and then purchasing gifts for friends and family for Christmas. I’ve also written the majority of my Christmas cards (still to post those that need posted), and I’ve bought and wrapped a gift for a new arrival in our family as well!
No wonder I feel I need to relax now, before I have to start trying to wrap all these gifts!
I do not like Christmas shopping, so I’m always relieved when I complete my shopping, even though every year I say I’m going to get organised for Christmas much earlier than the middle of December, but every year Christmas feels ages away, so I do nothing, before finally running about like an idiot the week/two weeks before Christmas.
Therefore for me, now is a time I can relax and reflect on the true reason we celebrate Christmas. Maybe that’s why I’ve had a particular song in my head today, ‘Mary, Did You Know?’
