Spark!

Be the light in the darkness and remember that one spark can ignite a fire. Be the spark!

These words are a powerful call to action. Encouraging us to spread the power of hope and change, because even in the midst of challenging time, sharing hope with others can ignite a spark of hope in them too.

I really like the song ‘Flares’ by The Scripts. It’s a song that touches on deep emotions. It’s about feeling lost and alone, feeling like there’s no hope left in your life. The song’s lyrics talk about the pain that sticks around even after the initial hurt has faded. The lead singer, Danny O’Donoghue, connected with the song in a personal way after his mum had a serious health scare. For him, the song became about hope and the little miracles in life, like his mum getting better when it seemed unlikely.

I know ‘Flares’ is not a Christian song, but, for me, the ‘flares’ in the song remind me how we can see signs of hope in the knowledge that we’re not alone and that God is always with us, helping us through tough times.

I therefore encourage you to continue to be the light in this dark world, sparking the hope in other’s lives that God can give us hope.
