Swapsies?

As I was writing today’s post, the word that came to mind was “swapsies” – It’s a word I don’t think I’ve used or heard for a while. For those who haven’t heard the word “swapsies” before, here’s a short description:

Swapsies – the act of swapping or exchanging something. Often used by children or in an informal setting It’s a childish or informal way of saying instead of saying ‘trade’ or ‘swap’

I wonder if you’ve ever wished you could swap places with someone? Maybe with someone close to you that is ill and you wish it was you instead of them? Maybe with someone who has the skills and ability to do something you wish you could do as well as them? Maybe just so you can see what it would be like to walk in a certain person’s shoes for a day?

As Christians we’re try to live our lives as Jesus would. However without actually walking in his shoes, can we really ever truly comprehend how he felt sacrificing himself so we could be forgiven of our sins.

So if we had to do swapsies with Jesus in the lead up to his crucifixion , would you do it? Would you take the place of this man, Jesus?

Would you take the place of this man?
Would you take the nails from his hands?
Would you take the place of this man?
Would you take the nails from his hands?
