Always forgiven

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

At this time of year, I always find myself questioning everything about my life and my faith. Let me explain – Life can be difficult at times, meaning I question all I do, who I am, as well as whether God loves me, and whether He even exists.

However, when I remind myself that I really do need God in my life, I always feel guilty that despite the doubts I have about my faith, and at times about God, He still loves me and forgives me. And that is when I end up asking myself ‘How can it be?’ that despite my faults and flaws, God forgives me and loves me?

That feeling of guilt about anything (and everything), can very easily overwhelm us at any time. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed by guilt, remember God’s grace is always enough for each one of us. The song ‘How Can It Be’ by Lauren Daigle, provides just that reminder in the second verse, when it says

I've been hiding
Afraid I've let you down, inside I doubt
That You still love me
But in Your eyes there's only grace now

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be?
How can it be?

This song is a great reminder us of God’s amazing grace for us. How can we not be moved when we think about how Jesus took our place on the cross?
