Have you ever looked forward to something so much that the more you think about it, the long it seems to take to get to that goal?
Just over two weeks ago, I realised that other than just a couple of odd days off, I haven’t had any time off work (other than off sick earlier this year), since the new year. No wonder I’ve felt as if I’ve needed a break! So I booked next week off on annual leave. To begin with I thought I’d chosen the first week where the weather was wet and a little cooler, however over the last couple of weeks I noticed that the forecast for next week has gradually changed, and it’s now looking like the good warm sunny weather is going to continue until at least Friday of next week. Result, as I have lots of work to do in our garden!
Funnily enough this working week seems to have really dragged in – and that’s despite being very busy at work, particularly as there’s a lot of things I had to get done before I finished for my annual leave.
Anyway, I’ve made it through my week, I’ve signed out of my work laptop, turned my work’s mobile off, and closed the door on my home office. Time to enjoy a few days off, enjoy the weather, get some much needed work done in the garden, as well as some much need rest.
