Have you guessed I’m talking gardens?
Our garden isn’t so much overgrown as all the bushes, flowers and most of all weeds, all seem to have grown 10 times quicker than usual this year.
Up until this year, since we moved to our current house, we’ve had someone who cut the grass, weeded and tidied up the garden for us. However he decided to retire for doing this at the end of last year. So this year I’ve had to ‘take on’ all our gardening. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t have a huge garden, but I’m no gardener, and as I’m working 5 days week, and I am easily tired/exhausted, it’s hard work. It seems to be a bit like painting the Forth Road Bridge in that as soon as I have tidied up the front and then the back garden, I look at the front garden again and it’s in desperate need of attention again – the whole gardening thing seem to be a never ending task.
So for now, I’m concentrating again on the front garden as that;s the one everyone sees when they walk along the street. At least it’s just my neighbours that see the back garden! The good thing is they know me well, so understand I’m no gardener and haven’t got as much time (or energy) to work on the garden as they have.
The garden may not technically be overgrown, but it does need attention. I’d hoped it might have been dry this coming weekend so I could do some gardening, but looks like we’re getting rain, rain and more rain, so the garden will just have to wait.
