All of them!

How’s your memory? My memory is not very good these days. Ever since I had major surgery a few years ago, I’ve found that there are loads of things I can’t remember anymore, plus if people telling me things, or asking me to do something, unless I write it down, there’s a possibility that I’ll forget about it! That’s why I always say to folk, if you ask me to do something, make sure you see me writing it down, or it won’t happen!

I may struggle to remember somethings, however there are still many things I definitely do remember – one of those is past sins.

Do not remember the sins of my youth
    or my transgressions;
according to Your lovingkindness remember me,
    on account of Your goodness, O Lord.

Psalm 25:7 (Modern English Version)

God tells us that he will remember our sins no more, but why would he do that, and how can he possibly forget all our sins?

I recently read this example of how we can explain how easy it is for God to forget our sins:

  • Get yourself a notepad and a pen or pencil.
  • Write the word ‘sin’ on the page – press very firmly as you right
  • Now tear off the sheet of paper you wrote on.
  • Crumple up the piece of paper.
  • Throw the crumpled piece of paper across the room.
  • That’s how easily God forgets our sin!

If God can ‘throw away’ our sins as easily as that, we too must throw our sins away, and get them out of our head, so we can move on.

It’s our choice. Let the Holy Spirit work his lovingkindness in your life, and ‘throw away’ your past sins.
