As Christians we must have a prayer life, and must spend quality time with God each day. But what if although you make time to pray, you find you’re unable to utter any words or, you find each day you seem to omit to make time for God?
In the last few weeks I’ve found that I have been unable utter any words of prayer, and as a result I’ve found I seem to be omitting to put aside my usual time with God first things each day.
I’m frustrated and annoyed at myself that I can’t prayer and that I don’t seem to want to spend quiet time with God each day. Following a conversation with a friend last week, they reassured me that this happens to everyone at some point, and it doesn’t make me any less of a Christian just because I’m going through a period where I can’t pray.
So while prayer must be an essential part of every Christian’s life, it doesn’t mean we’ll always find it easy to pray. In fact it’s likely that every one of us will at some point struggle with our prayer life, and that’s ok.
I will continue to try and pray, as God knows what’s in my heart even although I can’t utter the prayers I want to say. If you are going through a similar struggle just now, be assured as I am, that your prayer life will return. Just keep on believing!
