I do not like Monday mornings (to be fair I dislike most mornings!). The alarm clock rings. The endless meetings and to-do lists loom. The teams messages and emails start stacking up before you’ve even had your first coffee. Is it just me, or do we all think Mondays can feel like a tidal wave, rushing in with expectations, responsibilities, and pressure to get things done. However if we dive right into our week, we’ve not started our week right have we? We should be pausing for a few seconds before we dive into the week, breathe, and remind yourself that you don’t go into this week alone, as God is always with you.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
This isn’t words to comfort is, it’s a promise from God, that His mercy is new each day. Not recycled, not leftover but new. Tailored for this exact week, with its unique challenges and joys.
Instead of seeing Monday as a mountain to climb, see it as a meadow to walk through with God.
- Each task becomes a chance to serve.
- Each conversation, a moment to reflect His grace.
- Each challenge, an invitation to lean on Him.
Remember you don’t need to have your week all figured out. You just need to show up, trust God, heart open, and hands willing.
All my life You have been faithful, all my life You have been so, so good…
These words are from a song called ‘Goodness of God’, which reminds us that God’s faithfulness isn’t confined to Sundays. One line that resonates deeply:
Let the truth of those words echo through, not just your Monday morning, but through your whole week. Let them anchor you when the day feels heavy.
