I’ve always felt there’s something great about a new week. It’s almost like a fresh new page waiting to be written on. No matter how last week ended, whether full of happiness and joy, exhaustion, or a mix of both, Monday, and the start of a new week always offers us a chance to reset. It offers us a chance to breathe, to realign, to start over.
And isn’t that the heart of grace?
God doesn’t just offer us mercy once, He offers it daily. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning…” (Lamentations 3:22–23)
So as this new week begins, we don’t need to carry the weight of last week’s failures or anxieties, because we can lay them down, and ask God to renew our minds, soften our hearts, and guide our steps.
Resetting doesn’t mean rushing. It means pausing. It means asking:
- What do I need to release?
- What do I need to receive?
- What is God inviting me into this week?
It might be rest. It might be courage. It might simply be trusting that He’s already ahead of us, preparing the way.
One song that beautifully captures this posture is “New Wine” by Hillsong Worship. It’s a prayer of surrender and renewal:
Make me Your vessel, make me an offering, Make me whatever You want me to be
It’s a reminder that God doesn’t just patch us up, He transforms us. He pours new strength into us. He brings purpose out of pain, and He walks with us into each new day.
So take a deep breath, let go of everything from last week, step into the new week, as this week is a gift.
