Let’s be honest: Mondays have a reputation. They sneak in like uninvited guests, rearrange our peace, and remind us of our to-do list and get back to reality.
What if Monday shouldn’t actually be considered the ‘villain of the week’, but instead consider it as the opening act of the week.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people
Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
This verse from Ephesians reminds us that God wants to enlighten the eyes of our heart so we can see the hope He has promised us…and yes, that includes hope on a Monday! It’s the kind of hope that shows up in coffee cups, unexpected kindness, and the sacred art of being able to find matching socks!
So here’s a little manifesto for you this Monday:
- I will not fear my inbox.
- I will not be intimidated by the washing basket.
- I will not let the traffic steal my joy.
- I will remember that I am called to hope, even on a Monday.
God doesn’t clock out on weekends. His mercies are new every morning. God is in everything we do, and everything emotions.
So take a deep breath, smile at the chaos, and mayb, just maybe, laugh a little. You’re not alone because you are held, and you’re heading into this week with the eyes of your heart wide open.
