Stronger than we realise Part 4: The strength of steadfast action

When I wake up my mind to do a thing, I act

Theodore Roosevelt

This quote is quite direct, but simple: No drama, no flair, just steady, faithful action.

It reminded me of the quiet obedience we see in the bible, when people simply did the next right thing: Ruth gleaning in the fields; Noah building the ark plank by plank; Mary saying ‘yes’ to God without knowing what it would really mean.

Strength isn’t always something we can see in ourselves or in others, because it’s often just the quiet resolve to keep going, to keep trusting and to keep showing up.

If you feel you’re in need of strength today, remember: God often works most powerfully through simple, faithful steps.

To help reinforce today’s message of faithful everyday obedience by capturing the heart of living out faith through steady, intentional action, I want to share ‘Build My Life’ by Housefires/Pat Barrett.
