None of us I’m sure like when we face hard times or trials. We can often think that we don’t have the strength for yet another trial, but we forget that we never have to face any trials on our own, because God is with us, always.
Happy is the person who can hold up under the trials of life. At the right time, he’ll know God’s sweet approval and will be crowned with life. As God has promised, the crown awaits all who love Him.
James 1:12 (The Voice)
Here’s some words from William Law that help us understand that we can face our trials, and come out the other side stronger and in a deeper relationship with God..
Receive every inward and outward trouble, every disappointment…darkness and desolation with both your hands, as a blessed occasion of dying to self, and entering into a fuller fellowship with your Saviour. Look at no inward or outward trouble in any other view; reject every other thought about it; and then every kind of trial and distress will become the blessed day of your spiritual prosperity.
William Law
So today, tomorrow or the next day when troubles arise, reject the thoughts that say you can’t handle them, because by God’s grace, you can.
