I don’t know about you, but I love the idea of giving God my best, but I know that means going ‘all in’ and giving Him the parts I’d rather hide.
- The doubts.
- The disappointments.
- The habits we can’t quite break.
- The fears we pretend we don’t have.
- The prayers we’ve stopped praying because we’re not sure they’ll ever be answered.
God isn’t impressed by the times when we temporarily give him our all. But He is moved by our honest ones.
When we say, ‘Lord, here’s the real me, the tired me, the unsure me, the struggling me’, He doesn’t step back. Instead He steps closer.
‘All in’ doesn’t mean “all sorted.’ It means ‘all surrendered’, and that’s where healing begins.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
The song “Come As You Are” by Crowder is a great reminder that God welcomes us exactly as we are.
