All In #4 – Is a daily choice, not a one-time moment

I used to always think that I was the only person who didn’t have a dramatic altar “all in” moment — with tears, music, a powerful spiritual upsurge within us. But I’ve come to realise that that scenario definitely doesn’t happen for most of us.

For us, the real work happens on Monday morning, and it looks like this.

  • choosing kindness when we’re irritated, annoyed or frustrated
  • praying when we’d rather be doing something else
  • forgiving those who have hurt us, even when it still hurts
  • showing up when we feel empty, and feel we have nothing to give
  • trusting God when the answer is still ‘no yet’

It’s not glamorous.
But it is holy.

If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

Luke 9:23

God shapes us in our daily decisions: the quiet, unseen ones. The ones no one applauds. The ones that slowly form Christ in us.

All in is not a moment.
It’s a lifestyle.

A daily, steady, faithful yes.

In other words, surrender your heart, your life to God today.
