He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
Healing, even from God, rarely happens all at once – It comes in layers like medications from our doctor that soothe, exercises that retrain unused muscles, and choices that restore inner balance. Our bodies know this, and does our soul.
When our lives. are turned upside down, we long for instant relief. But God often works like a doctor, tending to each part of us individually in turn, caring for each part:
- Sometimes He prescribes stillness, like rest for a nerve inflamed by stress.
- Sometimes He invites movement, like gentle exercises that retrain our spiritual reflexes.
- Sometimes He calls for repositioning, shifting our perspective so the small things don’t throw us off course.
- Sometimes He leads us to release pressure, letting go of what we’ve held too tightly.
- And sometimes, He uncovers deeper wounds—ones that need more than surface treatment.
Each step is part of God’s healing path for us. And through it all, He is near, not rushing, not demanding, just present, and always faithful.
