Safe in His hands

Sunday evenings often carry a mixture of gratitude for the weekend and anticipation for the week ahead. The unknowns of tomorrow can sometimes feel daunting, but there is deep comfort in knowing that our security is not found in circumstances, plans, or our own strength. It is found in God.

As another weekend comes to a close, many of us are already looking ahead. Diaries are filling up, work demands are waiting, responsibilities are calling, and the pace of life seems ready to accelerate once again.

Yet Corrie ten Boom’s words offer a powerful reminder: we do not need to know everything about the future when we know the One who holds it.

Trust is easy when the path ahead is clear. It’s much harder when questions outnumber answers. Will things go as planned? Will challenges arise? Will we have the strength to face whatever comes? These are natural concerns, but God’s Word repeatedly calls us to place our confidence in Him rather than our own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Notice that Scripture says all your heart. Not part of it. Not just the comfortable areas. All of it.

When we place our full trust in God, we discover a wonderful truth: we are safe in His care. That doesn’t mean life will be free from storms, but it does mean we never face them alone. The God who guided us through last week’s challenges is the same God who will walk beside us through the coming days.

Tonight, instead of worrying about everything that could happen, let’s rest in the certainty of who God is. His love is constant. His promises are reliable. His presence is unfailing.

The week ahead may bring surprises, opportunities, challenges, and blessings we can’t yet see. But we can step forward with confidence because our future is held securely in the hands of a faithful Father.

As you prepare for tomorrow morning, leave your anxieties with Him. Trust Him with your plans, your work, your family, your ministry, and your hopes. The safest place to be is in the centre of God’s will.

May you begin this new week with peace in your heart, courage in your spirit, and complete trust in the One who never lets go.

The future is not frightening when it is placed in the hands of a faithful God.
