When there’s something troubling us about our health, we go and see a doctor. When we have problems is our life, who do we ask for help?

I hope the answer to that question for you, is God.

We may have health issues or concerns in our life, but our doctors will try to help us as best they can. We may have problem sin our life, but God can help us through those times. In fact whether life is good or we are finding it difficult, God is with us.

So whatever life throws your way, make sure you turn to God because he can turn your life around.

After the horrific events in the UK over the last few weeks, I’ve found myself wondering, where do we go from here as far as trying to turn the world back to God?

I have no miraculous answers, but I do have an answer…pray.

If we pray earnestly and sincerely, we can be the ones who help remind the world that God is still here. We simply must show others the way to God.

Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tyre? ~ Corrie ten Boom

Does that make sense to you?

In reality, it’s simply asking whether prayer is part of your everyday life, regardless of whether you are on a spiritual high or in the depths of despair. Or is prayer just something you turn to in emergencies, when all else fails.

Prayer is definitely my steering wheel, as it’s a standard part of my everyday life – Share my fears, my worries with God, as well as thank Him for all he provides for me. He is my steering wheel.

Is God someone you go to regularly or is he just someone you turn to when you’re in trouble?

Are you in pain?

Are you angry?

Are you anxious?

If you answered “Yes” to any or all of these questions, this next picture is just for you.

Never let your head hang down. Never give up and sit down and grieve. Find another way. And don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines ~ Satchel Paige

When life seems unbearable and you just want to curl up and give up, don’t!

Turn to Jesus, because no matter how desperate things may seem, He can bring sunshine back into your life again.

Does God have a home in your heart?

When you’ve let God into your heart, God will light a candle there so that everyone can see you are His. Once that candle is lit though, it’s up to you to take that light out into the world, into the darkness, and spread that light.

Take your candle and Go Light Your World.

There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
And there is a spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes his home

Carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Frustrated brother, see how he’s tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she’s been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame

So carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

‘Cause we are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let’s raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times

Carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Come to Jesus, and live.

Fall on Jesus, and live.

If your sky is dark and pours with rain, cry to Jesus, and live.

In the last few weeks in our band practice we’ve been practicing Martin Cordner’s Fusion. The following description of this music is taken from CordnerMusic.com

Fusion is a follow-on work to Escape Velocity (2010) and seeks to capture the sense of the celebration that arises when a believer arrives in heaven and is finally joined in eternal fellowship with God. In depicting this event the work links General Albert Orsborn’s song I know thee who thou art (SASB 59) with Chris Rice’s contemporary hymn Come to Jesus.

It’s a great piece of music to listen to, and to play, and for me while playing it in these last few weeks, I’ve found the tune of the middle section Come to Jesus, going round and round in my head. I must admit I couldn’t remember the name or the words of the song, so had to go the Martin’s website to remind myself of the words of the beautiful song Come to Jesus:

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden’s lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don’t be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall…so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can’t contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory’s side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

I love the words of this song as it takes us through various life events, birth and death, as well as various emotions and situations we encounter during our time here on earth, such as when we seek and find Christ for the first time, when we’re urged to Come to Jesus and live, and when we are lonely and told to Cry to Jesus and live.

Here’s Chris Rice, the composer of Come to Jesus, performing this beautiful song:
