In Spite of Us

Anything good in us is surely because God has been at work making the improvements; it’s grace flowing, not just sweaty effort on our part.

When I first read this statement I  just kind of thought, “yeah that’s about right”. However, after a few days of thinking about this, I now realise just how true this statement is. I now know that all the good things God does in and through us, are in spite of us, not because of us!

That’s a bit blunt isn’t it, but I do belive it to be true. If we are left to our own devices with no belief or knowledge of God, would we be half the person we are today?

Looking back on my life, there have been several times in my life when I could have completely turned away from God and gone my own way. However I’m so pleased I stuck with God and allowed Him to mould my life further, as I believe I would never have achieved what I have, if God had not been by my side.

I’d urge you today, let God into your life, as He will make the improvements in your life that you require…it is truly worth it.
