As I spoke about in In Need of a Hero, I think we all need a hero at some point in our life – a brave strong person who will never let us down. As youngsters we find role models who we want to try to emulate, while as adults we probably identify our hero as someone who has achieved something we wish we could achieve or someone we wish we were more like – Either way, young or older, we all still consciously or subconsciously have heroes or role models in our life.
There’s only one problem with the role models or heroes we often choose for ourselves…they can quickly and easily to something to make them go from being a hero to meaning nothing to us. All it takes it one word, or one action and any kudos the person has acquired can easily be shattered.
Although many role models and heroes can often let us down, Jesus never will. So if you’re looking for a true hero who will never let you down, make Jesus your hero today.
