Musical Emotions – Part 9

Today I want to talk about another piece of music I listed in Music to Touch Our Hearts which always pull at my heart-strings. Today the music I want to tell you about is Leona Lewis‘ Footprints In The Sand.

This song has come to mean so much to me over the last few years, having originally been one I really liked, but then taking on new meaning for me during a difficult time in my life.

Let me explain – Having been unwell for a few years with no diagnosis of what was causing me to feel so poorly, things at work weren’t going the way I would have hoped, and some other family concerns and worries were all causing me to struggle to cope with what life had thrown my way at that time. Then one Sunday, an angel found me – Someone I’d known for a while, but had never been very close with, came to me and reached out to me in friendship and support.

Wow! What an emotional day that was, I was at my lowest point at that time, however I truly believe God sent that person to me, to be my friend and support over the coming weeks/months as I struggled to get through each day.

I know you’re wondering how this fits in with Footprints In The Sand, but I’m getting there, honestly! That evening after my friend first reached out to help me, she sent me a text, here’s what it said:

Footprints in the sand

I’ll always be there for you

When I received that text, I must admit I totally fell apart – Thankfully I was in the “safety” of my own home by then. I knew then that friendship was going to be one I would cherish forever.

Not long after that I Leona Lewis released this song and it brought all the emotions and feel of that day back to me again. Now every time I hear this song it reminds me of that wonderful friendship which started on the day I mentioned above. Not only that though, it also reminds me that no matter what I might face in life, the struggles and the worries, I am never alone – Not only do I have friends who will always be there for me, but God is always there for me.
