Thank Goodness It’s The Weekend

All I can say is thank goodness it’s finally the weekend so I can actually rest!

If you’ve been reading my blog posts recently you will know that I just returned to work 3 weeks ago after being off sick since last year. Having said that, I’m not back at work full-time in the hope that returning to work this way will allow me to build up my strength again before having to face a full week at work.

Despite not working full-time this has still been a week full that has totally drained and exhausted me, both physically and mentally. So what has made this week such a tough one? Well here’s a very brief summary…

Monday

am – I was at the Golden Jubilee Hospital for tests
pm – I was working from home

Tuesday

am – I was at the Golden Jubilee Hospital for more tests
pm – I was at work

Wednesday

all day – I was at work all day

Thursday

all day – Hubby at the Royal Infirmary for an operation

Friday

am – I was at work
pm – With Mum to check on Aunt Mae’s house, visit Aunt Mae, then had a coffee before doing our shopping

So that has been my week – It’s been a very tough one for me, though maybe to you all this doesn’t sound like a very busy or stressful week, but to me, who’s still recovering from illness, it has been a very very long and exhausting week which has left me feeling totally exhausted and drained both physically and emotionally.

I’ve felt so tired it’s been difficult to even find the energy to get up from the sofa and go to bed and then vice versa. So I’m hoping that a weekend of rest (other than heading over to Mum/Dad’s to see Mum on Mother’s Day on Sunday), will help me feel better, because at the moment I don’t think I can face next week.

I just hope and pray that next week and the following weeks start to be a little easier to cope with as this was one tough week.

  1. It does sound busy. Recovering from illness is a big deal, and returning to work makes it exponentially more difficult. I bet it will get easier. You will get stronger. It will just take time to get some endurance back.
