I read the following quote recently, and decided that if I was looking for a catchphrase this should be mine, as it is so me!
We fear rejection, want attention, crave affection and dream of perfection.
Rejection
I doubt I’m alone in fearing rejection. Rejection can be a horrible thing to cope with, and I think once you’ve experienced it once you never want to feel like that ever again.
Don’t despair though, turn to Jesus, He will never reject you!
Attention
Ever felt alone in a crowd? If you have, you will understand why sometime we all want attention…but not too much!
Again don’t despair, Jesus will always be attentive to your needs.
Affection
When life is tough and you’re struggling to cope, a hug from a friend is often all I crave. It’s not that I think a friend could necessarily help with anything in particular, but simply that by getting a hug from them it reminds me that they really do care about me.
We must never forget Jesus will always care for us in every situation we find ourselves in.
Perfection
I’ve spoken before about the fact that I’m a perfectionist (see I Want Perfection), and that hasn’t changed, I still crave perfection.
None of us will ever achieve perfection, however by believing in Jesus, we can do the best we can to become more like Him, perfect!
