How do you cope when…
- You or someone close to is diagnosed with a serious illness
- You are made redundant
- You or someone close to is involved in a serious accident
- A member of your family dies
- Someone you trust, betrays your confidence
The best way to cope in all these situations is to trust God, let Him support you and give you the strength you need to get through each day.
Reminder: It’s when we’re finding life hardest that God can seem so distant and silent, but as I said in yesterday’s blog post, Teacher, God is still there, and He is looking after you and helping you.
It made me depressed in spirit to see the link to depression on the left hand side. The images are misplaced here on a website dedicated to Christ. Poor show.

Sadly depression is something that is a very very real illness for many, therefore I find it sad that you feel it has no place linking to it from my blog. Depression is real and we must support those who suffer from this debilitating illness which is often considered to be “the elephant in the room”.
I have never said my blog was only ever going to be about Christ, so to challenge me about the content of my blog because depression is mentioned I find hurtful and disappointing as, as a Christian I care about all people regardless of their colour, creed or illness…of which depression is definitely one of those!
In this blog I have always tried to talk about my faith, life’s challenges and real life events, so I’m saddened that talking about or linking to real illnesses is a problem for you, as I’m just trying to raise awareness!

Hello Dorothy, I think you have read into my brief comment something that wasn’t there nor meant. I did not like to see the pornographic images displayed which was at the root of my comment. I did not mention depression though I happen to know a great deal about it. I am shortly going to set up my own web-site which WILL be solely about the Lord and I will be writing about many topics including mental ill health. I will let you know the address once it is set up. Finally, I enjoy reading your blog as I love to read praise and thanks to the Lord. In the meantime, may the Lord heal your depression, Dorothy. God bless.

Thanks Alice. Sorry if i misunderstood ur comments, tho to be fair ur comment did say u we’re “depressed in spirit to see the link to depression on the left hand side” of my blog, hence my comments! Completely at a loss to what pornographic images u are referring to as I certainly would not be intending those to be on my website.
