The last few days I’ve spoken about God being “good”, but what do we mean when we say “God is good”?
In Psalm 34:8 we read:
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Quite simply, God is the foundation of goodness and of everything good. In other words, God did not obtain it from somewhere else.
By nature we are not necessarily good, just look at children and how by nature just about every one “plays up” to their parents, at least until they truly learn right from wrong. We can have good traits or do good deeds, but that in itself doesn’t make us good because, our goodness comes from God.
That is why we must remember to say thank you to God for His goodness, and for teaching us how to be good.
Great to remember today that God is the source of all the good in us. We need his help to make good choices as we can’t do it on our own. Great post.
