It had to happen

Our Easter celebrations are over, and most of us have probably now returned to work again after a few days holiday because it was Easter – If there’d been no first Easter, we would have spent the last few days celebrating the risen Christ. It’s because of what Easter was really about, our forgiveness, that the first Easter had to happen.

One of my favourite Easter songs is Garry Druery and Sydney Staff Songsters singing He Had To Hold To Calvary. This song reminds us that

He had to hold to Calvary to ever hold to me

He could not free himself and set me free

He had to surrender to win my victory

He could not save himself and save me
