Many people these days wear some device which captures, amongst other things, how many steps they take each day. Not only that, but many who wear these devices seems to have become obsessed about the number of steps they take each day – They make a habit out of constantly checking their total steps for the day, telling others how many steps they’ve taken, and even feeling it necessary to tell everyone each time they plan to walk more than just a few steps.
I wear a device which counts amongst other things, my steps, but I wear it just so I can get an idea how much I’ve walked. I don’t get obsessed with achieving a particular number of steps each day, as I know I do as much as I can each day, and that’s good enough for me.
For those of you who are counting your steps and trying to achieve specific goals each day, good luck, but don’t do more than your body tells you you can do. Do your best, that’s all any of us can do.
