Make a new start

They say having a child changes everything – I personally cannot comment on that as I don’t have any children, however I have seen how a child has changed the lives of family and friends when they have had children. They tell me that no matter how much you prepare for becoming a parent, you’re never fully prepared, as you don’t get an instruction manual with your child when they are born.

The birth of a child is the start of a new life not just for the child but for the parents as they adapt to having a new addition to their family. Just as the birth of a child is the start of a new life for the parents, so the birth of Jesus all those years ago, offered us the chance of a new life in Christ.

As we near the end of 2018, and look forward to the start of a new year, take advantage of Christ’s offer of new life by giving your heart to God today.

O Come Be Born Again by Jennifer Martin

Baby born in Bethlehem
Come be born in me again
Since You don’t mind dirty stables
Here’s my heart not fit or able
To receive such majesty
Still, You humbly come to me

Chosen One who chose to be
Suff’ring Savior, Servant King
Since You don’t despise the broken
Here’s my life laid bare and open
To receive Your mercy
As Your Spirit calls to me

All who struggle, all who sin
Come and become born again
Come and lay your heavy burdens
At the cross where all’s forgiven
At His feet new life begins
Come, O sinner, enter in
