Several times in this last week we’ve had to cope with driving rain and very strong gusting winds. On Friday evening after a reasonably dry day, the driving rain and very strong gusty winds returned, which meant when I went to bed, I found it quite difficult to sleep because the noise of the rain and strong winds battering the bedroom window which were battering our house.
As I lay there trying to ignore the sounds of the rain and wind, my mind turned to those who don’t have a place to live, who live on our streets every day, come rain, hail or sunshine. I prayed for the homeless and those who were out in this awful weather to try and help them. Then I prayed for them again, and again.
Yes, I prayed for them, but I was also annoyed at myself for not praying for the homeless until the weather was so bad it kept me awake! I pray that I will never stop being grateful for all I have, and will never forget to help those less fortunate than me, and that means, at the very least, praying for them.
