Hold On by Beth Croft
All for my Saviour who reigns in glory,
all for the freedom that Christ has won.
I’m letting go of the pain I carry;
my hopes and fears laid down.Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.
Hold on, hold on to the cross.
Love so amazing, love so divine.
Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.Although my faith may stumble and falter,
though troubles find me, here I will stay.
The past that held me has lost its power,
and death has lost its sting.Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.
Hold on, hold on to the cross.
Love so amazing, love so divine.
Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
I am Yours, and Yours alone.
If I have You, I have it all. Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.
Hold on, hold on to the cross.
Love so amazing, love so divine.
Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.
Hold on, I’ll hold on to the cross.
I will hold on, Hold on to the Cross.
This song speak about why we should ‘Hold on to the cross’, but it doesn’t necessarily explain how we should hold on to the cross.
It doesn’t mean we literally have to physically hold a cross in our hands or arms forever. But it does mean we have to hold the cross of Jesus in our heart forever. In other words, we have to acknowledge and accept that Christ died for our sins, and that is what we must never forget.
I have given my heart to God and have promised to hold on to the cross for the rest of my life, have you?
