Lord, there are times when I have to ask, ‘What?’ – times when your love is not easy to spot. What is life’s purpose and what of me here?’ Grant me some answers, Lord, make your will clear. Lord there are times when I have to ask 'Why?' - Times when catastrophe gives faith the lie. Innocents suffer and evil holds sway, Grant me some answers, Lord, teach me your way. Lord, there are times when the questions run fast – times when I fear that my faith may not last. Help me, support me, Lord, help me get through. Lead me through darkness till light shines anew.
These are the words of a hymn written by Nick Fawcett. Words which I can definitely relate to, words which I’m sure we can all relate to at some point in our lives.
‘What’ and ‘Why’ are two very big questions, questions which only God can answer. The things we must always remember is that, while God will always answer our questions, the answer he give may not be the one we expect or even want. However God always knows what’s best for us in every situation and every circumstance, so even on days when darkness closes in around us, trust in God, and let Him lead you through the darkness until light shines on you again.
