Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
Why me? Why now? All words I’m sure we’ve all said at various times when things happen to us, positive or negative.
There is a very simply answer to ‘Why me?’ and ‘Why now?’ – God created each one of us; He created every little thing about us; He created the earth and everything, and everyone in it, so he knows us intimately and he cares for us.
Lord, you know everything there is to know about me.
Psalm 139:1-5 (The Passion Translation)
You perceive every movement of my heart and soul, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind.
You are so intimately aware of me, Lord.
You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence!
You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.
You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past.
You have laid your hand on me!
When we think about all God has created, isn’t it amazing that he remembers each one of us, and still takes the time to listen to us, and care for us! Because of God’s love for us, we have been saved – Because we have been saved, we must proclaim that He is Lord!
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
